Because I spent so much time on the computer seeing light that is shining through color I felt I needed to balance my seeing with the way light is absorbed by surfaces and to use my hands on some completely natural materials. So I made several needle felted pieces. I like the way with this work nothing mechanical comes between me and the natural colors of the wool or the wool dyed with natural dyes.
The compositional strategy behind the triangle series is to vary only their size, to see how that can alter the picture plane when presented in a series. The variations of the natural color of the sheep’s wool is a light motif.
Go on to Felt Faces for the next phase of this work.
